So, the first thing I wanna tell you is: I love fashion. There are so many ways of expressing individuality, and fashion is definitely one of them! I love fashion since I was a teenager, and that will never change - I'm sure!
However, there is one thing that has changed, and that is how I do my research before buying new clothing items. Let me explain:
Unfortunately, nowadays, with the internet, social media, and being able to buy anything at any time and have it briefly delivered, people have been consuming more and more, and that includes clothing.
The problem is that: when you buy clothes that you're going to discard quickly and have them replaced for the next thing in fashion, you are creating a lot of waste. Besides that, companies that sell clothing items on a large scale and for really low prices usually are involved with workers in terrible conditions regarding safety and payment.
In this sense, I strongly recommend the documentary "The True Cost". You can find it on Netflix, and it's a great way to understand how big Fast Fashion companies work, and to reflect on your own habits.
After learning more about conscious consumption, I have been shopping more from local stores, items that I know how and by whom were made, and pieces that will last because they were made with love - no abusive conditions involved!
